NOTE: All items listed below are in HO scale, unless otherwise noted. New Product Announcements KCS - L&A BAY WINDOW - PORTHOLE CABOOSE - In 1950, eleven boxcars from the KCS #16000 series were rebuilt into cabooses. The cars were, to say the least, distinctive! Sporting bay windows and portholes, neatly arranged smooth sides, these little gems rode on standard A.A.R. trucks as well as Allied Full Cushion trucks, both of which are to be provided in these models. The cars appeared in classics KCS Red. Toward the end of their lives, they were painted in a "mod" Brown and white scheme... the garb in which they, along with the KCS F units, disappeared into the sunset. EAGLE will produce two versions in HO scale brass of this historic car; both versions in KCS red with black roofs and the appropriate trim, lettering and shields. You may also purchase each version without paint, interiors and lights. Items In Stock or Available SAM HOUSTON ZEPHYR - For the first time ever, the 1945 edition of the Sam Houston Zephyr is brought to life in HO scale with compelling detail and finish. EAGLE has spent over a year in painstaking research and careful construction of the "sterling" masterpiece. This, their second numbered and certified issue, is a full set header by EMD E-5 9909, the Silver Bullet. This stunning locomotive leads the all Budd consist of Silver Light, Silver Crown, Silver Trail, Silver Chariot and Silver Hours. The prototype of this locomotive and train was put into service on the Burlington-Rock Island (lawful joint subsidiary of the CB&Q and CRI&P) between Forth Worth - Dallas and Houston - Galveston in January 1945 as Trains #3 and #4. This full size train replaced the Shovelnose #9901 destroyed in a fire in December 1944. All components of the SAM had seen earlier service on the CB&Q in the Silver Streak Zephyr and other trains. After the SAM's annulment in 1966, the cars, all leased, were returned to the parent company, thence in to Burlington Northern service. Some even saw service in the early AMTRAK years. EAGLE's careful research and plans were translated into this exquisite creation by master craftsmen of AJIN Precision in Korea. The set is appropriately plated and painted with working diaphragms on the locomotive and cars, has full interiors and complete lighting including the "drumhead." As is EAGLE's practice, the models are numbered and certified authentic. The boxed HO set includes complete descriptive literature, prototype photographs, operating history and a bibliography.
